Sukanya Ray, PhD is currently working as an Associate Professor in Psychology at Suffolk University, Boston Massachusetts. She is a native of India and has received her education in India, Australia and USA. She has been teaching Undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology at various Universities in India, Australia and USA. She provides her clinical service to individuals, couples and families at Asian Mental Health Clinic of Department of Psychiatry, Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School, and Boston. She has strong research interests in Eating Disorders, Trauma/Resiliency, Cyberpsychology and Community Mental Health. She has supervised both Master’s and doctoral dissertation projects. She has presented her work both at national/international conferences and published her research in Psychology journals and book. She has been an active community consultant for both Asian and other immigrants in Massachusetts. She has received grant and collaborated with different service agencies to provide both skill building and resources to immigrant, minority and underprivileged communities. Recently, she started an community outreach service program called MAI Empowerment at Cambridge, MA to provide English language, basic computer skill and resource information services to South Asian and other immigrant families. She has initiated both in-house educational training and community outreach services in collaboration with clinicians/researchers to strengthen cultural competence and community health awareness programs in Massachusetts.
